Well, things are starting to come to a close here…and I don’t like it! I am officially the subject of all jokes about “dying” or being a grandma hahaha. But, it still doesn’t seem real to me! We have just as much going on as ever and I don’t ever wanna stop working! I know that Heavenly Father has great things in store for life after the mission but this experience has been absolutely indescribable. I left on my mission thinking I was going to be serving the Lord, paying back just a little bit of what He has given me. When in reality, I have just gone even further into debt! The blessings I have received because of my mission are so immense that I will never be able to be grateful enough for all of them. Because of my mission, I have grown so much as a person, I have received a precious increase of knowledge, and most importantly, I have had the priceless privilege of helping people change their lives through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I remember at one point on my mission, someone said that if you do this right, you will be able to look back at your trials and see them as some of your biggest blessings, and I feel like I can truly do that now. Anyone who has served a mission knows that it is not an easy experience. At times, it’s downright unpleasant, and crying is certainly involved at times. But as I look back on the past year and a half, I am SO grateful that I had every single one of those experiences. I wouldn’t trade them for the world! I am full of love and gratitude for people and places that I never would have known if I hadn’t made the decision to become a missionary of the Lord. And even better, I understand what it is that I need to do to continue in His service, and to continue feeling this way for the rest of my life. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church of Jesus Christ, that it was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, and that we have a living prophet today! Don’t forget to watch General Conference this weekend and hear the messages the Lord has for all of us.
Love you all!
